The best hotel in Kuwait? The newly opened Regency

Two days ago, I was flipping through Men’s Passion Magazine and saw an article about the newly renovated Regency Hotel that’s located in Al-Bida’a. I briefly read through the piece before showing my husband pictures of the hotel which I thought looked too Photoshopped i.e. too good to be true. My thoughts were proven wrong when I stepped into the lobby that same night. The first thing that came to mind was, “Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.”

The lobby is by far the best one I’ve ever seen in Kuwait and probably one of the best I’ve seen and been in my whole life. It has a perfectly exquisite blend of classic touches with marbled floors and walls, refined arches and elegant furniture that’s reminiscent of The Four Seasons’ timeless class. After a lovely cup of Turkish coffee we took a quick tour to see two rooms, the outdoor swimming area and the large yet cozy downstairs restaurant (which smelled real good). I was pretty excited about it and couldn’t help to take pictures of the place (see above) with my handy BlackBerry. And the rates are pretty great as well and much lower than we thought they’d be which makes the place great for a quick weekend getaway. We didn’t have time to see the ballrooms but you can get a better picture by visiting www.theregencykuwait.com or the actual place.
